People have always complimented us on the design of our Recipe Kits, but recently we have received a number of questions regarding how eco-friendly or green our product is. We wanted to take a moment and share with you our very green story.
Reuse – Repurpose – Recycle
These three little words are the credo of every product we develop. Everything in each Recipe Kit meets this requirement: - The red boxes are made from recycled paperboard as well as eco-friendly water based inks and glue. - All of the bottles and containers in the kits can be rinsed and reused, or if you prefer, you can recycle them. That’s right, even those beautiful acrylic cubes can be recycled (however we encourage you to donate them to local schools if you have no use for them). - Destination Dinners strives to use only local suppliers and distributors. We use the company hybrid car for scheduled pickups on a weekly or month basis. - Destination Dinners is an active member of SF Freecycle (visit www.freecycle.org for more information). We source most of our packing materials via this organization as well as donate many items we can no longer use. - Destination Dinners also repurposes all packaging and run-off materials whenever possible and recycle anything that is left over.
As we expand our operations we continue to look for more ways to provide a beautiful, delicious gift product while doing our part to sustain a green world.
